Water Crackers 100g
Produced just outside Leeds, these crackers are still made to traditional methods that include flame grilling and using only the finest Yorkshire water. Deliciously crisp and toasty.
Because they don’t contain any leavening agent like yeast or baking powder, water crackers are notoriously hard to make; they are difficult to bake and need flame grilling. Hence very few biscuit companies make them. It is this lack of ingredients that made them long lasting and ideal for sea voyages – hence their nickname “ships biscuit”.

These now come in a round shape rather than rectangular and are labelled ‘Yorkshire Crackers’.
A perfect accompaniment to any cheese.
